PAPER MAGICLAY - Frequently Asked Questions

What is Paper Magiclay?

Paper Magiclay is an air dry polymer clay which has a soft suede like appearance and feel when it is dried.  It is easy to work with and can be rolled out very thinly to create flower petals and figurines.  Any unused clay can be wrapped in clingwrap and stored in an airtight container.

How do you handle Paper Magiclay?

Rolling the clay out on wax paper stops it from sticking and tearing.  Mould will develop if piece is left in high humidity so you should seal your finished pieces with a spray varnish (matte or glossy), also available through Craft4Less.

How do you colour Paper Magiclay?

This clay comes in white and can be coloured in two different ways:

1:  Add water based paint to the moist clay and knead the piece until you have achieved the desired colour.

2:  Once piece is dry it can be painted and shaded as desired with paint.

How do you stick pieces of the Paper Magiclay together?

When the clay is moist it sticks together with a strong bond.  Once the clay is dry it may be necessary to use a craft glue to ensure bonding, particularly small pieces.  Use water and hand lotion to keep the clay moist while working it into shape.
