Needle Felted Cut Out Cards

What you need to get started:

Australian Series Cut Out card pack
.  Koala, Australia, Kangaroo or Koala, Blue Tongue Lizard and Cockatoo
Merino Wool Variegated Colour 10g
Felting Needle
Foam Block
Wool Felt Square
Fashion Fibres Charcoal
Craft Glue 50ml
Scissors

**Merino Wool colours used in the cut out cards are Koala - stormy, Australia - autumn and Blue Tonue Lizard - primary.

Step 1 - Cut the felt square to fit the space behind the cut out approximately 15cm x 11cm.

Step 2 - Cut a small length of merino wool approximately 10cm.  Separate and tease out the merino wool fibres in your chosen pattern on the wool felt.  You can use stripes, circular, swirls, block or random patterns to create your design.

Step 3 - Place the wool felt and fibres on a foam block, hold the fibres firmly on the wool felt between your fingers and begin to needle in a continuous up and down motion through the fibres and wool felt.  Be careful to only use the needle in a continuous vertical motion because if you change direction you risk breaking the tip of the needle.  You will see the fibres have been needled in place.  If you want to add extra dimension with textured fibres, position and needle them in place now.

Step 4 - Glue your completed design onto the front fold flap, then fold in place and add a fine line of glue to the top and bottom of the card so the fl ap stays closed.

All you need to do now is add your special message to friends or family and post your unique personally designed greeting card.
